Bartlett SilverHawks Players of the Week

Blake Piekarz

Blake Piekarz aka Piño had a great week of baseball both at the plate and on the mound. Piño batted .500 this weekend with three solid hits and pitched two very strong innings without allowing an earned run. On the season, Piño leads our team in both ERA and personality. He’s quick on his feet and quick witted which keeps us coaches on our toes.  Every team needs a Piño and we are happy he’s ours. Keep up the good work Piño.

Payton Bulicek

Payton AKA P- Money has been as steady as a rock all season.  His bat has improved tremendously hitting .438 for the season with 27 RBI and only 4 Strikeouts! His 49 Stolen bases put him one behind our team leader. And as always the crafty lefty is always dependable on the mound.  Keep up the great work kid, glad to see you continuing to improve!

Aiden Anderson

Aiden’s ability to hit the baseball and drive in runs is something special. He has 32 RBI’s on 29 hits and boasts an incredible .453 batting average. This clean up hitter is not only deadly at the plate but leads the team with K’s on the mound. Aiden has struck out 54 on the season and continues to help get us wins. Way to compete and lead Aiden!

Kellen Parkinson

This week’s POW for 10U Green is none other than Coach Uncle T’s much better looking offspring, Kellen Parkinson. Overcoming his father’s genetic shortcomings, #2 straight mashes the ball. Daddy Kell earned MVP honors this past weekend at the Batman Baseball Bash, spraying balls all over the outfield. Parkinson loves to ball out and it shows with a big smile on his face just like Coach Uncle T’s whenever he passes a Culver’s. Defensively, this ball player handles his business by tracking balls in the outfield, gobbling them up at third, and he’s straight “rocket fire” from the mound. KP2 always puts on a tour de force performance that he obviously gets from his Mama.

The Dads

This week the award goes to the Dads for inspiring their sons to pick up a ball and have a catch. Thank you dads for the countless hours of practice in the back yard or parks. Thank for inspiring your kids and teaching them the love of the game of baseball!

The entire team

This week’s POW is the entire 14U AAA Silver Hawks team! This incredible group of boys continue to grind through the WSBL playoffs and always find a way to come out ahead. Last night they dominated a very good #2 ranked Geneva Vikings team 11-7 and are headed to the semi-finals. These young men from Bartlett are some of the most hard-working, resilient, respectful and mentally tough ball players around. They continue to push themselves and it’s finally paying off! Congratulations boys, we couldn’t be more proud. Let’s keep it going!
